Daniel Okafor is a partner in the Antitrust and Foreign Investment team in Washington DC. He advises on US merger control, including HSR filings and second requests, and represents parties before CFIUS on inbound investment reviews and mitigation agreements.
Daniel is often brought in at the term sheet stage to assess regulatory timing and allocate risk between buyer and seller. He coordinates closely with colleagues in London and Asia on parallel UK, EU and national security filings, so that clients receive one regulatory timetable rather than several.
Daniel is a graduate of Columbia Law School. He keeps a small cruising yacht in Annapolis and spends most summer weekends on the Chesapeake.
Selected experience: - Secured HSR clearance without a second request for a European buyer's acquisition of a US medical devices distributor. - Represented a UK sponsor before CFIUS in connection with its acquisition of a US data analytics business. - Coordinated US, UK and EU merger control for a transatlantic industrial merger.
