Riley Taylor is a partner in the Corporate and M&A team at Mercier & Valez, where he advises major corporates, private equity houses, and financial institutions on significant transactions across the UK and Europe. He joined the firm in 2004 after six years at a leading New York firm, bringing with him a transatlantic perspective that has shaped his practice ever since. Over the course of his career James has acted on a wide range of public and private transactions, including several of the most closely watched deals in the London market over the last decade. He works closely with boards and executive teams at pivotal moments in their corporate development, helping them think through the full commercial and legal implications of the path they are taking. James is known for the quality of his judgment in difficult situations and for his ability to hold complex, multi-party processes together without losing momentum. Outside of his transactional work he sits on the firm's pro bono committee and has led a long-running partnership with a London-based access to justice charity.
