Avary Brooks is a partner in the Corporate and M&A team at Mercier & Valez, where she has built one of the most highly regarded transactional practices in the City over the course of a 22-year career. She read law at the University of Bristol before training at a major City firm, qualifying into the corporate department and making partner in 2011. Sarah advises multinational companies and sovereign-backed investors on complex cross-border transactions, with a particular focus on deals where regulatory, competitive, and financing considerations all have to be managed in parallel. She has acted on transactions spanning a broad range of sectors and geographies, and is known for the rigour she brings to due diligence-heavy processes where asset value turns on issues that go well beyond the balance sheet. Colleagues and clients alike describe her as someone who combines genuine intellectual depth with an instinct for the practical, and who is at her best when a transaction is at its most demanding. She is a member of the firm's partnership board and chairs its diversity and inclusion working group.
